Don’t close USPS

AtascaderoNovember 13, 2013

In regard to Denny Barringer’s letter (“Shut down the USPS,” Oct. 23), I consider this a bad idea. How do I send a get-well card or personal note to friends who are hospitalized, in a care facility, live far away or just simply don’t have a PC? How about birthday and Christmas cards (this would put greeting card manufacturers out of business)? And some of us still write personal thank-you notes. In fact, I suspect there are a few of us that still pay bills by mailing a check.

Hopefully the USPS will hang around for a few more years until I’m gone!
