Atascadero ceremony celebrates local veterans

Local veterans were celebrated Monday with music, speakers and special handmade quilts honoring their years of service during a sun-drenched Veterans Day event at the Faces of Freedom Veterans Memorial in Atascadero.

The public ceremony included performances with bagpipes, drums and chorus groups from Atascadero High School and Cuesta College. Pilots from Paso Robles’ Estrella Warbirds Museum also did a missing-man formation flyover as a tribute to the fallen.
