Divine guidance

Pismo BeachNovember 8, 2013

Why is it that protesters complain about prayer before council meetings? The public and government leaders ask people to pray when tragedies occur. Why ask for God’s help only when horrific things happen? If a large earthquake or fire occurred here, or if the nuclear power plant blew up, we’d be begging for prayers.

It makes sense to ask for divine guidance and to give thanks for our blessings when it is not an emergency. Perhaps the Pismo Beach City Council can include members of the community and leaders of various religions to participate in the invocation before meetings.
