Dee Santos

Former Grover Beach Mayor Dee Santos has been chosen as the grand marshal of the 47th Annual Grover Beach Holiday Parade on Dec. 7.

Santos was chosen because of her more than 45 years as an active member of the Grover Beach and South County community, according to a city news release.

She served on the Grover Beach City Council three times between 1986 and 2004. She has also operated her own businesses, Salon Dee, for 46 years.

Dee currently serves as the Grover Beach Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission chair and as a Lucia Mar Unified School District trustee.

This year’s holiday parade theme is “Under the Sea.” It is set to start at 10 a.m. at the intersection of 16th Street and West Grand Avenue.

Entry forms to participate in this year’s parade are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 29.
