Friday's shooting at Los Angeles International Airport caused one delay at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport.

An incoming and outgoing United Express flight that shuttles up to 28 passengers between San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles was delayed Friday morning, said Craig Piper, assistant general manager at the San Luis Obispo airport. The incoming flight was scheduled to arrive in San Luis Obispo at 11:30 a.m. and depart for LAX at 11:55 p.m., but instead both flights were delayed about an hour and a half. No other flights there were affected.

“There’s a considerable ripple effect that goes through the system,” Piper said of how incidents that occur at major airports affect smaller hubs.

Locally, things cleared up by Friday afternoon when another scheduled United Express flight from LAX arrived on time and made its 2:55 p.m. departure on schedule, he said.

Still, passengers are encouraged to check the schedules of their connecting flights, Piper added, because reports of widespread delays in Los Angeles.
