Sue Perrys Oct. 25 letter claims the Affordable Care Act has created innumerable amounts of confusion.
Really, much of the confusion stems from the Republicans unprecedented efforts to block its implementation by using some extreme tactics. These include: refusing to expand Medicaid or create insurance exchanges in their states, wasting time voting 39 times to repeal Obamacare, publicizing misinformation and misleading numbers and risking the full faith and credit of the country over defunding Obamacare.
Despite all this, CBS, CNN, ABC and Washington Post polls now show the law gaining support, contrary to Perrys assertion.
She refers to federally run health care systems as being a la Russia. But nearly 50 non-socialist governments have found ways to efficiently run systems that give every citizen health care.
Perry extols the Republicans health care plan (the 2009 Patients Choice Act). Actually, Republicans havent passed the bill out of committee or had it scored by the CBO, even though they control the house. Politically, it is advantageous to have a plan but not commit it to any nitty gritty details.
The letter ends by condemning all federally run programs (except military). Seniors, however, seem to love their Medicare and Social Security!
