Correction: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong day the robbery occurred; it happened Wednesday.

A San Luis Obispo coin shop was rammed with a U-Haul truck and robbed around 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

The owner of California Coin & Stamp, at 253 Granada Drive, is conducting an inventory to determine what was stolen. The thieves used a U-Haul truck to ram the front door of the business and gain entry, the release said.

The U-Haul was abandoned at the scene, and the thieves fled prior to the arrival of officers.
