Cal Poly wins its own women's golf tournament

The Cal Poly women’s golf team won the Cal Poly Firestone Grill Invitational, and Jamie Corr led the Cal Poly B team with a second-place individual finish at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande on Tuesday.

Corr shot a 4-over 146 for the two rounds, four strokes back of medalist Annie Freman of Santa Clara and tied with Seattle’s Juhee Lee.

Cal Poly finished with a score of 608, eight strokes ahead of Seattle’s 616. The Cal Poly B team tied for sixth at 633.

Madison Hirsch led the Cal Poly winning team by tying for fourth at 148, and teammate Alex Phillips was eighth with a 151.
