San Luis Obispo’s Public Works Director Daryl R. Grigsby was recently designated a Public Works Leadership Fellow by the American Public Works Association.

As a fellow, he’ll mentor public works professionals enrolled in the APWA Donald C. Stone Center for Leadership Excellence program, according to a news release. He is one of 246 public works professionals in North America to be inducted.

Since 1988, Grigsby has worked in public works in cities across the country. He relocated to San Luis Obispo in 2012 when he took over as public works director.

The American Public Works Association, based in Kansas City, Mo., is a not-for-profit, international organization with more than 28,500 members.
