San Luis Obispo-based digital agency StudioGood has acquired Social People, a digital and social media consultancy business. The purchase will expand StudioGood to Atlanta; besides its headquarters in San Luis Obispo, it also has offices in Dallas and New York City.

The companies declined to disclose the terms of the acquisition.

StudioGood, founded in 2001 under the name Kompolt, creates social media campaigns with the motto that “good ideas matter,” according to Managing Partner Brian Powell. Its clients include eBay, American Red Cross, M&M’s, UNICEF and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Social People was founded in 2009 and offers services in digital and social media strategy, content development, social analytics, influencer outreach and social media training, according to a news release. Clients included GRAMMY Awards, Beats by Dre, Red Bull, Lexus, Nike and The Weather Channel.

The companies previously worked together on a cancer-awareness social media campaign at the Blogworld Expo in Las Vegas in 2009. That effort set the Guinness World Record for the most social mentions in 24 hours, according to the release.
