A Día de los Muertos workshop was held this past week at Cuesta Colleges North County Campus.
A gallery of artwork and altars created by students and staff will be on display inside the Dale and Mary Schwartz Learning Resource Center on the Paso Robles campus through Nov. 7. Visitors can learn about the components of an altar or, ofrenda and add a personal touch to the community altar.
A second workshop will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Cultural Center Building (Building 501A) on the San Luis Obispo campus.
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican holiday that honors loved ones who have died through prayer and remembrance, and is traditionally celebrated in Mexico on three consecutive days: Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 and 2.
