The argument over gun control seems misdirected (liberals versus National Rifle Association, ad nauseum). Changing magazine size and applications might be good ideas, but that wont solve our primary problem.
Most of our recent tragedies were carried out by youngsters in homes with easy access to weapons, not by career criminals. There are millions of guns in our country. Thats not going to change. I have enjoyed owning pistols, rifles and shotguns. Why not make them less accessible?
Why not a nationwide campaign for trigger guards? They cost as little as $10. A parent can carry the key on his or her person and, at least, partially control the weapon while away from home. This is certainly not a total solution, but it would be a start, and I dont consider it a severe threat to our constitutional rights.
