Izaiah Cooks led the Atascadero High football team with three touchdown runs Friday night as the Greyhounds beat St. Joseph 35-10.

Quarterback Robbie Berwick added two more rushing touchdowns for Atascadero (6-2, 4-0 PAC 7).

The Greyhounds’ defense shut down the Knights for most of the game. St. Joseph kicked a field goal on its opening drive and then did not score again until it scored a touchdown at the end of the third quarter.

With the Knights threatening again in the fourth quarter, Atascadero’s Sam Neely intercepted a pass and returned it 85 yards to set up the Greyhounds’ final touchdown.

Morro Bay 24, Cabrillo 7

Tristan Collins had 187 rushing yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns as the Pirates spoiled the Conquistadors’ homecoming game.

Morro Bay (5-3, 3-1 Los Padres League) led 10-7 at halftime following Collins’ 2-yard score in the second quarter and Joel Wilkie’s 30-yard field goal. Morro Bay called a reverse pass, and receiver Zach Smith threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to a wide-open Elijah Garcia that gave the Pirates some breathing room.

Garcia finished with 77 receiving yards on three receptions.

Cabrillo (2-7, 2-3) threatened to make it a one-score game again in the fourth quarter, but Smith interception a pass and returned it 60 yards, leading to Collins’ 9-yard touchdown run that sealed the game.

“It’s been back-to-back weeks of solid defensive efforts for us,” said coach Jack Greer, whose Pirates held off Santa Ynez 14-9 last week. “We still need to tweak the offense a little bit and open it up more. When Tristan is doing such a good job running the ball, it’s hard to get away from it but we are looking to start passing more to open it up for him.”

The Pirates had 337 yards of total offense and no turnovers. Quarterback Isaac Manuputy was 5-for-8 passing for 61 yards and 17 rushing yards on seven carries.

Mission Prep 68, Farmersville 51

Patrick Laird carried the team and the ball for Mission Prep (7-1). On 32 carries, he accumulated 343 yards and five rushing touchdowns and also had a 79-yard punt return for another TD.

Quarterback Patrick Miller completed 11 of 19 passes for 264 yards and four touchdowns.

Calvin Levisay caught three passes, including two touchdowns, for 134 yards, and had an interception while on defense. Evan Talbert had four receptions for 74 yards and two scores.
