Coast Union spikers turn tables on Coastal Christian

Stung by a 3-1 Coast Valley League home court defeat on Sept. 19 at the hands of the Coastal Christian Conquerors — the team Coast Union lost to twice in 2012 — The Lady Broncos got some payback on Tuesday, Oct. 15, beating the Conquerors on their home court, 3-1.

In that match, Xue DiMaggio had eight kills, Itzel had seven kills and 20 digs, and Sage Radecki led Coast Union with 25 assists and 15 digs. Cristina Plasencia added 27 digs for the winners.

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, Coast (7-2 in league) downed North County Christian 3-1. Eleri Perryman had 10 kills, Itzel Saavedra had six kills and five aces, Radecki added 27 assists and Cristina Plasencia contributed 16 digs and four aces.

The next home match for Coast Union is Nov. 1 vs. Valley Christian Academy. The JV team plays at 4 p.m. and the varsity takes the court at 5 p.m.
