A North County man was in critical condition Wednesday night after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Atascadero.

Just after 7 p.m. Wednesday, a 46-year-old Atascadero man attempted to cross the street outside of a crosswalk in the 6200 block of Morro Road when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle, according to a news release from the Atascadero Police Department.
