Pacific Gas and Electric Co. has donated $25,000 to the Childrens Resource Network of the Central Coast.
PG&E President Chris Johns presented the check to Lisa Ray, founder and chief executive of the social service agency at a media event attended by a number of public officials on Wednesday.
The donation follows one PG&E gave the Childrens Resource Network last year. In 2012, PG&E gave the agency a truck that has been used as its sole transportation for moving donations and pulling a 24-foot mobile clothing and resource trailer, the Traveling Childrens Closet.
The Childrens Resource Network provides free clothing, shoes, blankets, books, backpacks, school supplies, diapers, toiletries and other basic needs to low-income and at-risk children up to age 18 in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
