Cuesta College is celebrating the Mexican holiday known as Dia de los Muertos, or, Day of the Dead, with an art show and other events.
A gallery of altars and artwork created by Cuesta students and staff is on display Tuesday through Nov. 7 in the lobby of the Learning Resource Center of the colleges North County campus, 2800 Buena Vista Drive in Paso Robles.
Visitors can learn about the components of an altar or, ofrenda and add a personal touch to the community altar.
Members of the public are also invited to participate in two workshops, where theyll learn about altars and make and decorate sugar skulls.
The first will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the cafe (Building N2002) of the North County campus. A second workshop is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Cultural Center (Building 5401A) of the San Luis Obispo campus off Highway 1.
