This is an update for everyone who is wondering if anything has happened since the Morro Bay City Council meeting June 25 when the mayor specifically directed staff to move forward and send out the Requests For Proposals (RFPs) to invite other businesses to submit proposals for the aquarium space.
At the following Aug. 13 City Council meeting, staff came back with some changes to the RFPs. Changes and corrections were discussed, and some modifications were approved. The new estimated date from staff to send out the RFPs was determined to be mid-September. September has come and gone. The new estimated date is now mid-October at the latest.
Hopefully, the RFPs will finally go out this week (unless staff misses the estimated deadline again), so the city can move forward toward some potentially very exciting proposals, and some much needed revenues. Keep posted.
