The Morro Bay High football team prevailed in a nailbiter, with sacks from Chris Maez and Mario Berragan on consecutive plays halting a late drive from Santa Ynez for a 14-9 prep football win in a Los Padres League clash.

Morro Bay (4-3, 2-1) running back Tristan Collins had 21 carries for 112 yards rushing and threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Zach Smith.

“The halfback pass was a brilliant adjustment by our offensive coordinator to the blitz,” Morro Bay coach Jack Greer said.
