Letter to the Editor

No quick fixes

Arroyo GrandeOctober 17, 2013

The short take of Ron Neal’s Oct. 13 letter to the editor is that anyone that disagrees with him is stupid and racist. So much for trying to influence minds.

Of course, he backs up his assertions by referring to an op-ed piece in the Los Angeles Times as well as commentary from an op-ed columnist for The New York Times. Sounds fair and balanced to me.

There are vast problems everywhere you look these days. Ironically, this “crisis” in Washington, D.C., will be resolved on yet another temporary basis, and everyone knows this. So save your indignation for a deeply embedded mega-problem like the structural federal deficit itself. This will not be fixed next week.

And, if you still want to rail about something stupid, check out the California Care website. As of this writing, anyone signing up for coverage still has no idea what doctors and hospitals would be in their network.
