Morro tradition

Morro BayOctober 16, 2013

On behalf of the 32nd Annual Morro Bay Harbor Festival Board of Directors, I would like to thank the many sponsors and terrific volunteers who helped make this year’s event enjoyable for all. Visitors arrived from near and far, lured to our harbor by the sound of outstanding music, the smell of albacore on the grill, kids activities, live entertainment, 21 wineries, food and art/crafts vendors.

The MBHF board knows that without the generosity of sponsors, the event would not have the seed money required annually to continue. Due to our sponsor/partners, our community can continue its tradition each October through the continuing sponsorship of generous local businesses.

Equally as important are the great numbers of volunteers who appear annually to work at the event. Volunteers are the core of why the Harbor Festival takes place. In return for their time, the Harbor Festival makes a donation to the nonprofit they support. Through this system of volunteers helping nonprofits, the MBHF has distributed more than $500,000 in its 32-year run.

We look forward once again to awarding funding to the nonprofits. We are proud to be part of the Morro Bay tradition.
