The road to repeal

San Luis ObispoOctober 14, 2013

I generally do not agree with mouthpieces for the rich and super-rich in groups like Americans for Prosperity, but President Tim Phillips is correct regarding the constitutionally appropriate way to get rid of the Affordable Care Act. His group’s goal is not to defund the law, an action that can literally be seen as against the law. Rather, Phillips wants to see the law repealed.

This would be possible only if radical Republicans continue to control the House of Representatives and win a super-majority majority in the Senate. The way to accomplish this is not the alienating strategy being used by radical Republicans in the House. Rather, the key to repeal is the quiet movement in many parts of the country to “reform” voting-rights laws that purport to eliminate abuses, but which, in fact, are designed to eliminate voters who benefit from and support the Affordable Care Act.
