Court decisions on gay marriage will be focus of lecture

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance of the Central Coast and Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County will sponsor a lecture Oct. 19 on the effects of the Supreme Court decisions allowing gay marriage.

A panel of legal experts will review the decisions on the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8.

The panel will provide a brief overview on various topics affected by the rulings, including estate planning, tax law, family law and employment law, according to a news release.

The lecture will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the San Luis Obispo City-County Library Community Room, 995 Palm St. Light refreshments will be available.
