Two Cal Poly music ensembles will give a showcase performance at Carnegie Hall in New York next spring, according to a Cal Poly news release.

PolyPhonics, the university’s premiere chamber choral ensemble, and the Cal Poly Arab Music Ensemble, were both invited to give the performance at the World Projects 2014 New York Choral Festival, held March 16-18.

The two ensembles will also perform a concert and give a lecture-demonstration at Hunter College on March 19, and give a performance the next day at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Philadelphia’s Historic District.

During the festival at Carnegie Hall, PolyPhonics conductor Thomas Davies will act as the faculty clinician and adjudicator for several of the high school acts that will perform there.

The university asks those wishing to help support the trip with donations to contact Davies at tdavies@calpoly.edu or Ken Habib, conductor of the Arab Music Ensemble, at khabib@calpoly.edu.
