A free mammogram clinic will be held Oct. 19 in San Luis Obispo for women who don’t qualify for state or federal breast cancer screening programs. Appointments must be made in advance.

The mammogram clinic is a joint effort by French Hospital Medical Center and the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To make an appointment, call CAPSLO at 544-2478.

On Oct. 19, participants first will go to CAPSLO’s Center for Health and Prevention at 705 Grand Ave. for a breast cancer screening assessment, clinical exam and educational information. At that time, they will receive a referral for a free, same-day mammogram at French Hospital’s Women’s Health and Imaging Center at 1911 Johnson Ave.
