Compromise needed

Paso RoblesOctober 9, 2013

The finger-pointing by members of Congress and the president does not solve our problems. Democrats need to accept the fact that Congress is not bound by prior decisions and can decide to defund what is perceived as a bad law. Republicans need to accept the ideal that all Americans should have affordable health care available to them.

The president and Congress need to accept that “compromise” is the essence of a smooth-functioning government. It would also be essentially fair to remove all exceptions to the law. I say to all of our elected officials, accept reality and take action.
