Power restored in SLO after bird flies into power line

UPDATE 9:45 a.m.: As of 9:20 a.m., power had been restored to all homes in San Luis Obispo, according to PG&E.

Power was also restored to all customers in Arroyo Grande at 10:43 p.m., Sunday. That outage affected some 5,600 customers.

Original story: Some 4,200 homes are without power in and around San Luis Obispo.

The outage was caused by a bird strike on a power line, said Tom Cuddy, PG&E spokesman. The utility hopes to have power restored by 9:45 a.m.
