Local nonprofit organization Seeds of Hope International Partnerships will host its second annual Walk for Hope on Saturday to raise awareness of water crises in Africa.

Participants will collect and carry water along 1-or 5-mile routes in Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo, to “experience a version of the trek that many African women and children take every day to survive,” according to a news release.

All proceeds go toward developing the organization’s holistic solutions, such as BioSand filters, sanitation training, agricultural development and vocational training.

The walk will begin at 9 a.m. Registration is $25 with a T-shirt, $20 without, and children younger than 12 walk for free. To register, visit http://www.sohip.org/walkforhope.
