In response to the article, Morro Bay personnel controversy, many questions come to mind.
Why would City Manager Andrea Lueker and City Attorney Rob Schultz have the outgoing City Council, six weeks before their term ends, approve an increase in their severance of $75,957?
What did these employees know about their job performance that they would be concerned about having an increase in their severance package in place for themselves?
If the employees didnt initiate a request for this closed session agenda item on Nov. 1, 2012, why would the City Council majority at that time propose and approve this generous severance package increase in the first place?
Where is the public record of the closed session report from the city attorney for this action?
Why would the City Council, which is supposed to be a steward of our citys financial resources, provide such a benefit for any city employee when budgets are tight? Where is the value to Morro Bay residents in this contract change?
Sounds like something that current council members, George Leage and Noah Smukler should be held accountable for and answering to with voters.
