Transitions director to receive award

Jill Bolster-White, executive director of Transitions Mental Health Association, will receive the Arlene Chandler Award on Friday for her dedication and leadership in mental health issues. She will receive the award at a luncheon hosted by the Community Counseling Center of San Luis Obispo County.

Bolster-White has worked for Transitions Mental Health for more than 23 years and is credited with growing the agency’s budget, services, community partnerships and reputation. Arlene Chandler, for whom the award is named, helped found and incorporate the Community Counseling Center as a nonprofit in 1968. Chandler spent 30 years in pupil services counseling at Cuesta College and Cal Poly.

The Mental Health Awards and Education Lyceum will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Madonna Inn. Tickets are $55. Register by calling 543-7969 or emailing director@ccslo.com.
