San Luis Obispo County's General Services Department is negotiating with software company MindBody to rent 124 parking spaces at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport.

The contract would last from six months to a year while the company completes a new parking structure, said Craig Piper, assistant airport general manager. He hopes to have the deal finalized in the next couple of weeks.

“We have determined that the portion of the parking lot to be rented is little used so the traveling public should not be affected,” he said.

MindBody — which delivers business management software to subscribers in the health and wellness industry — is expanding its footprint by nearly 60,000 square feet near its current location at 4051 Broad St., on the south side of Tank Farm Road. Plans call for a two-story office building, large outdoor plaza and four-level parking structure with 390 spaces on a 3.5-acre site. The expansion was scheduled to begin this year and be complete in late 2014.

The company hopes to hire an additional 200 employees. As of May it employed about 500 locally.
