Nipomo runs past Templeton to open LPL football play

Nipomo High beat visiting Templeton 36-20 in the Los Padres League football opener for both teams Friday night behind three touchdown passes from Matt Albright.

Templeton (0-5) scored three touchdowns after being shut out in its four first games. 

Quarterback Clay Villars ran for two touchdowns and was 13-of-19 passing for 135 yards with an interception for the Eagles. Running back Christian Hauser ran for 135 yards on 20 carries and had 85 receiving yards on six catches.

“We are still trying to find our way offensively,” Templeton coach Dan Loney. “We are using more spread shotgun formation and it worked for us.”

No other information was provided by Nipomo (2-3).
