About 2,300 PG&E customers in Atascadero were without electricity Friday morning due to an equipment failure, a PG&E spokesman said.

The outage, caused by transmitter problem, mostly impacted customers close to the downtown area, said spokesman Blair Jones. The blackout for those customers began at 7:26 a.m. Customers were gradually brought back online, and everyone’s power was restored by 10:47 a.m., Jones said.
