Garage, car destroyed in fire early Friday in Los Osos

The garage of a Los Osos home was destroyed in a fire early Friday morning.

At 3:15 a.m, Cal Fire South Bay firefighters were dispatched to the 1800 block of 13th Street, according to a recent news release.

Firefighters arrived to find a fully involved two-car garage and one burning passenger vehicle. The fire was fully contained within 30 minutes, and damage was confined to the garage area. Total loss to the structure and contents was estimated at approximately $70,000, with a savings of $300,000 to the adjacent detached residence.

Twenty-two firefighters and four fire engines responded, the news release said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
