A suspicious package reported at the Walmart in Paso Robles on Thursday had only trash inside, Paso Robles police said.

At about 11 a.m., a person reported seeing a brown paper bag sealed with black tape in an unattended shopping cart outside the Walmart. The cart was found on the east side of the store near some propane tanks, according to a news release.

The Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services and police cordoned off areas of the parking lot and evacuated part of the store as a safety precaution, the release said. The San Luis Obispo County Bomb Task Force’s robot opened the suspicious package, which was then inspected by task force members.
