The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities has again accredited local nonprofit Transitions-Mental Health Association for three years for its Supported Employment Program.
The program provides ongoing job support services for individuals with mental illnesses, according to a news release. It serves about 200 individuals a year and partners with a variety of businesses and community agencies throughout the Central Coast.
The accreditation is the highest level that can be awarded to an organization, according to the news release. It is the second consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to TMHA since 2006.
TMHA operates 27 programs in 35 locations throughout San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties, with the goal of reducing the stigma associated with mental illness.
