In response to Leonard Pitts question Sept. 18: No, not all of America is crazy. However, some of us are. The crazy ones should be identified and taken care of, not ignored and dismissed. I reference two articles about the Navy Yard shooting in the same paper. How could a man who has been contacted by police for acting crazy, front page article, pass a background check in order to buy a shotgun? Im going to steal Kristin Rands quote from the same days paper, and twist it slightly: The right of the mentally ill not to be stigmatized seems to trump the right of victims not to be shot.
Once again, the safe and sane gun owner is tarred and feathered along with the crazies.
