Surfers turned out in November 2012 for a paddle-out in Avila Beach in memory of Jodi Fisher and others who have lost battles with cancer. The paddle-out occurred in conjunction with the two-day Surfing for Hope event, a benefit for the programs and services offered by the Hearst Cancer Resource Center at French Hospital Medical Center.
