The Cal Poly men’s and women’s cross country teams swept at the Fresno State Invitational at Woodwark Park on Saturday.
The Cal Poly men finished with a score of 20, and the women finished with a score of 18.
Fresno State was second in the men’s race with a score of 61, followed by Cal State Fullerton (63) and San Jose State (124). Cal State Fullerton was second in the women’s race with 54 points, followed by Fresno State (58).
Cal Poly’s Chris Frias won the men’s four-mile race in 19 minutes, 15.4 seconds. Teammates Sean Davidson (19:17.0) and Mitchell Moriarty (19:34.3) finished second and third, respectively. Clayton Hutchins (20:05.5) in sixth place and Riess Haslam (20:14.1) in eighth place rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs’ Ashley Bergstrom won the women’s 5K race in 18:09.3. Rachel Bush (18:14.8) finished in second, Mary Jo Wright (18:20.6) finished in fifth place, Ashley Windsor (18:26.3) was sixth and Erika Schaeffer (18:30.0) was seventh for Cal Poly

The Broncos swept the visiting Mustangs 25-14, 25-14, 25-23, as Nikki Hess and Megan Anders had 12 kills apiece for Santa Clara (5-4).
Chelsea Hardin led Cal Poly (4-5) with 11 kills, and Megan McConnell had six kills and eight digs. Maddie Kuber had 13 assists, and Kate Walters had nine digs.
