Letter to the Editor

Our obligation?

Paso RoblesSeptember 11, 2013

Congratulations to President Barack Obama for asking Congress to act. That’s how democratic governments work.

Many of us have been disgusted by our Congress refusing to act over the past few years, because they don’t want to support the current administration. Finally, Congress has been put in a position to act, to make a decision on a whether to sit by and allow the continued use of chemical weapons and slaughter of Syrian citizens.

The question is: Is it our moral and ethical obligation to involve ourselves in another foreign government, and should we fight to protect our security from al-Qaida?
