The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County recently awarded a $5,000 grant to the Child Development Resource Center of the Central Coast to pay for free therapy services for one-time traumatic events, such as a death in the family, foster placement or divorce.

The grant is part of the Family Resource Center Initiative, funded by the Helen and Ronald Dunin Memorial Endowment, according to a news release.

The center also offers a wide range of ongoing therapy services to help children and families build positive environments and self-image, and to help strengthen families on the Central Coast. For more information, visit or call 805-544-0801.
