The east Paso Robles homeowners should file a class-action lawsuit against the county for their failure to protect individual property owners water sources. This is a classic case of a governing agency turning a blind eye to the owners. Check the records; this aquifer crisis is not a new revelation and it has been completely ignored by the county. And now, two North County supervisors want to give the wine industry time to mount a defense and create a water governance that only they will control.
Ignoring the water crisis in this county is a violation of public trust and, at best, is nonfeasance by our public officials. The property owners should immediately hire an attorney to protect their rights. Its for sure their elected officials have failed in their responsibility and are now looking to the wine industry to bail them out, and guess whose best interest will be served?
