In response to a recent letter to the editor regarding concern about oil extraction in our county due to the use of water: This is a valid concern; however, the oil companies have done their homework and they are resourceful. They have the ability to bring their own water. They dont need our water. Fracking has been done for a long time. The fracking would not be done near residential or commercial areas.
The oil companies will continue to prove in and out of court that fracking is done safely because there are a few myths about it.
The economy of our state is among the worst in the nation and is in great need of revenue for a multitude of purposes, and oil would be a tremendous boost to our economy.
