Residents can nominate charity for Pacific Eye donation

Pacific Eye is planning to donate $10,000 to local nonprofits this fall, twice what it gave last year as part of its “Pacific Eye Gives Back Challenge.” In 2012 the money was given to Court Appointed Special Advocates of SLO County, the Food Bank of San Luis Obispo County and Central Coast Funds for Children.

Community members can nominate the charity of their choice through Pacific Eye’s Facebook page, or by downloading the nomination form from http://bit.ly/16PTXBL, according to a news release. Once downloaded, the form should be sent to clykens@paceyemd.com. Nominations are due Sept. 6.

Pacific Eye will select 11 finalists, from which the community can pick one winner. Voting will take place from mid-September until Thanksgiving, according to the release. The top organizations will split the $10,000 donation.
