Train hits 22-year-old man in Pismo Beach

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

A 22-year old man was hit by an Amtrak train as he crossed the tracks on Tuesday.

The man, whose name was not released by Pismo Beach police, had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, according to authorities.

The train hit him around 4:25 p.m. at the train tracks near Highway 101 and Five Cities Drive.

Cal Fire and San Luis Ambulance personnel assisted. Investigators from both Union Pacific and Amtrak police are investigating the cause.
