Cal Poly’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design has named architecture professor Margot McDonald as interim head of its architecture department.

McDonald has taught at Cal Poly since 1992, and previously served as interim head in 2002-03, according to a news release.

She has served on the CSU Chancellor’s Office Sustainability Advisory Committee for Education and Research and is currently chairing the President’s Sustainability Advisory Committee at Cal Poly. She is also a past president of the American Solar Energy Society and former national chair for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Formal Education Committee.
