A man who robbed a Shell gas station in Atascadero on Monday morning is still at large.

Around 3:20 a.m. Monday, officers from the Atascadero Police Department responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a gas station at 8000 Morro Road, according to a news release from Atascadero police.

During the robbery, a man reportedly entered the business, selected some items and approached the clerk standing at the counter. The man threatened the clerk and demanded cash from the register, police said.

The robber was last seen running west on Morro Road.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20s.

Police said he was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a black plaid pattern, with the hood pulled up to partially cover his head and red baseball cap, as well as baggy blue jeans and a pair of black-and-white sneakers. He possibly had tattoos of large block-style lettering on both hands.

Anyone with information about the incident or the robber can call the Atascadero Police Department Investigations Unit at 805-461-5051.
