Ten Taiwanese motorcyclists who traveled across their country to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity among the elderly will ride through San Luis Obispo on Wednesday as part of their California tour.

A total of 17 motorcyclists starred in a 2012 documentary “Go Grandriders,” which detailed their 730-mile trek through Taiwan in 2007, according to a news release. The riders are all in their 80s and suffer from ailments such as arthritis, cancer and heart disease.

During their stop in San Luis Obispo, they will visit Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and City Hall, meet with Mayor Jan Marx, and visit a local retirement home, The Manse on Marsh.

From San Luis Obispo, they will move on to Santa Barbara.
