Discuss how Pismo Beach's Police Department is doing at forum

jhickey@thetribunenews.comAugust 19, 2013

Members of the public who wish to comment on the performance of the Pismo Beach Police Department may do so at a forum Monday night at the Pismo Beach City Council chambers.

The forum is part of the department's accreditation assessment, which is performed every three years by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, or CALEA.

The Pismo Beach Police Department voluntarily participates in the accreditation, which takes place every three years, and is the only police department in San Luis Obispo County that seeks regular CALEA accreditation.

Initial accreditation was achieved in 2007.

The session will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at 760 Mattie Road.

All comments are limited to 10 minutes. Those who are unable to attend the session may call 773-7047 between 2 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20.

The Tribune is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
