Cal Poly women’s soccer program to host free event Saturday

Mustangs to host exhibition against Pepperdine, sign autographs

The Cal Poly women’s soccer team will host Pepperdine in an exhibition match at the lower Rec Field on the Cal Poly campus at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The game includes free admission, and the team will be available for autographs and photos after the match.

The Mustangs will open the regular season at home Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. when the team will host Loyola Marymount.

The Mustangs return their top goal scorer from 2012, Elise Kreighoff, who notched 11 goals. Sara Lancaster, who scored four goals, and Cristina Farrington, who netted three, also are back. Mustangs goalkeeper Alyssa Giannetti also returns after recording a 9-6-3 overall record and 118 saves last season.
